Unemployment in Austria: Low in international comparison

Austria has a low percentage of people who are unemployed compared to other countries in the eurozone and the EU, as well as in global comparison. At 4.9 per cent the unemployment rate, is 1.9 per cent below the EU average.

One key strength of Austria as a business location is its pool of qualified and highly motivated employees. Investors highly value the professional skills and in-depth knowledge of their employees. Every company in Austria finds the right employees, whether a handicraft business, R&D headquarters or high-tech spin off.

The high level of loyalty of Austrian employees and their identification with company goals are important factors contributing to the country’s high productivity, quality standards and GDP growth.
