Robo wins start-up competition

Robo won the start-up competition sponsored by the business magazine “trend”. ABA-Invest in Austria supported the company in setting up business operations in Austria. Robo was established in Vienna two years ago by Rustem Akishbekov and his team. “Now we need capital in order to launch production”, explains co-founder Anna Iarotska. For this reason, Robo is initiated a crowdfunding campaign on the international platform kickstarter.com at the end of May. Robo develops small robots enabling children to playfully learn programming. Up until now, Robo has been financed by business angel investments and public funding programs. Robo also takes part in the start-up camp of the INiTS business incubator.

The innovative company Robo succeeded in asserting itself in a multi-phased selection process. The jury included Harald Mahrer, State Secretary at the Federal Ministry of Science, Research and Economy, which supports start-ups in various ways, for example on the basis of the initiative “Land of Entrepreneurs”.
