basemap.at wins Geospatial World Excellence Award

(c) MA 14 / Wolfgang Jörg © MA 14 / Wolfgang Jörg

With basemap.at, the Austrian federal provinces developed an up-to-date basic map of Austria together with partners from the scientific and business communities. The geodata of federal provinces, cities, municipalities and other partners were bundled in one platform and is available free and without charge within the context of Austrian Open Government data. It is already one of the most widely used data offerings in Austria, accessed up to 30 million times each day.

All data, including high resolution orthophotos, can be used privately and commercially free of charge. The contents of basemap.at i.e. borders, buildings, addresses, streets etc. are regularly expanded and updated.
