Only the Australian city of Melbourne performed better. As in previous years, Vienna’s quality of life scored higher than Vancouver and Toronto. Only two other European cities are in the top ten, namely Helsinki (9th) and Hamburg (10th).
The British researchers compared 140 cities with each other within the context of the study. The analysis looked at figures pertaining to 30 different criteria such as health care, environment, infrastructure, and the educational and cultural offering. Factors were rated on a scale between acceptable and unbearable.
