The American crowdfunding platform Kickstarter was launched in Germany one and one half months ago. Pansy, the founder of sms.at and his Noki rank among the most successful projects to date of Kickstarter Germany. The original financing target of Noki was to generate proceeds of EUR 125,000 from advance sales, an objective which was already achieved after just eight hours and 40 minutes.
Noki is designed to enable people to open and lock their doors with a smart phone. The first “door locks of the future” – called smart locks - should be delivered starting in the fall of 2015. Pansy promised the investors committing to the project via Kickstarter a discount of up to one-third compared to the initial planned price of EUR 150.
