Lindner – ABA paved the way for our qualified international employees to come to Austria

28. September 2022

Lindner GmbH in Baden, the first foreign subsidiary, represented a major step forward in the internationalisation of the Bavarian company. In the meantime, the facility in Austria was further expanded and Lindner has even owned a small but nice vineyard in Southern Burgenland since 2020.

ABA put an extremely reliable and very pleasant person at your disposal who provided advice and support from the very beginning and was able to competently clarify all our questions. In this regard, she directly contacted skilled workers in other countries and helped them as well as their families to apply for the residence permit. She resolved all their issues and concerns.

Questions posed to Julia Grötzinger, Personnel Officer at the Lindner Group

The branch office of Lindner Fassaden GmbH in Ried im Innkreis in Austria was founded at the beginning of 2018 and was the company’s third expansion move in Austria. What exactly led the Lindner Group to take this step across the border?

The Lindner Group is an internationally operating construction company with many sites and employees around the world. As our neighbouring country, Austria is naturally an extremely attractive market for recruiting employees and participation in interesting and prestigious construction projects. This is due to the geographical vicinity and the lack of language barriers.

The shortage of skilled workers is a burning issue for many companies. ABA was able to support Lindner in getting residence permits for skilled employees from your Serbian subsidiary who were involved in large Austrian projects. How did ABA specifically assist you and was the process much easier as a result?

ABA put an extremely reliable and very pleasant person at your disposal who provided advice and support from the very beginning and was able to competently clarify all our questions. In this regard, she directly contacted skilled workers in other countries and helped them as well as their families to apply for the residence permit. She resolved all their issues and concerns.

Will you make use of ABA’s services again?

Definitely, should we need such support again!

How acute is the issue of skilled workers for Lindner?

Naturally, the shortage of skilled workers is also a problem for Lindner. However, we take the subject very seriously and focus on it intensively. We want to take countermeasures by promoting junior staff from our own ranks, offering apprenticeships and deploying students.

Finally, one last question. What do you personally value the most about Austria?

The mentality and culture of our dear neighbour, which is so similar to ours, the beautiful countryside and of course the culinary delights!
