TU Graz and Magna Open the Advanced Driving Simulation Center
09. February 2026One of the world’s most powerful driving simulators is enabling cutting-edge research into vehicle dynamics and ride comfort, as well as e-mobility and automated driving. This is exactly the kind of industry–academia collaboration that defines Austria as an innovation location.
The opening of the Advanced Driving Simulation Center by TU Graz and Magna is setting new benchmarks for research and development in the automotive sector. The high-performance driving simulator enables realistic testing under controlled conditions, creating an ideal environment for analysing vehicle dynamics and comfort with precision. International companies benefit from this technological excellence at Austria’s innovation location.
Using the simulator, researchers can model complex scenarios in e-mobility and automated driving—from battery behaviour and driver-assistance systems to demanding traffic situations. The combination of high-resolution projection, a motion system and modular vehicle cabins offers exceptional flexibility for a wide range of research projects. This is helping to establish an important hub for the mobility of the future.
The close cooperation between industry and academia—embodied by TU Graz and Magna—highlights a key strength of Austria as a location: innovative capacity, internationally connected companies and excellent research. Austria stands out for its stable framework conditions, skilled workforce and dynamic automotive industry that sets global benchmarks, offering a clear location advantage for investment in the mobility of tomorrow.
