Launch of the Graz Centre for Machine Learning

The Graz Centre for Machine Learning (GraML) research network is being launched at the Graz University of Technology. The focus is on the field of machine learning. “Machine learning will change the world just as the Internet and computers have done,” the researcher Robert Legenstein is convinced. He heads the Institute of Theoretical Computer Science at the Graz University of Technology, and most recently, the new Graz Centre for Machine Learning as well.

Interdisciplinary work is being done on the further development of machine learning – whether to draw efficient and meaningful conclusions from big data, to find the most optimal material combinations or to make the systems themselves one step smarter.

The scientific work is divided into six core research areas, which are primarily dedicated to the foundations of machine learning, as well as several flexible modules.
