Rewe invests € 460 million in Austria

The German retail group Rewe plans to invest € 460 million in Austria in the year 2023. The capital injection is designed to modernise the branch network, save energy and focus on the issue of animal welfare.

More than 100 new buildings and renovations of shops are planned. Rewe is represented in Austria by the Billa, Billa Plus, Penny, Adeg and Bipa brand names as well as Rewe Austria Touristik, and employs a workforce of 45,000 people.
