Siemens Salzburg is the competence center for hydropower

In one current project, a new small hydropower plant is being constructed about 180 kilometers north of the Norwegian capital of Oslo. It will supply about 12,000 households with clean energy. The project is being managed by Siemens Small Hydro, the global Siemens competence center for small hydropower plants in Salzburg.

They function according to the same principle as large hydropower stations, and are particularly suited for decentralized sites such as smaller waterways. The markets of Brazil, India and China have considerable expansion potential.
