Where Great Emphasis is Put on Research.

ABCSG cancer research network manages international study

"Some 4,600 breast cancer patients in 500 centers around the world should take part in the study. 2,300 of these patients are outside of the USA. ABCSG is in charge of this study for the whole, a remarkable fact for a relatively small country such as Austria”, says Michael Gnant, Head of the Department of Surgery, Medical University of Vienna, located at Vienna’s General Hospital. 

The American project implementation partner is the Alliance Trial Foundation. “The data is analyzed together in a partnership with equals”, Gnant said at a background talk held by the Comprehensive Cancer Center (CCC) of the Medical University of Vienna and Vienna’s General Hospital. 19 centers in Austria will participate in the project.

The investigation aims at trying out a new strategy for the after-treatment of male and female breast cancer patients.
