Central and Eastern Europe is an interesting market for Japanese companies. The disproportionately high growth rate in a region with 130 million inhabitants has attracted many multinationals. The business operations were generally coordinated from the Netherlands. However, Mizuho bank, one of the largest in Japan, recently held a festive ceremony to mark the opening of its CEE headquarters in Vienna.
The Vienna business location was able to stand out due to its Eastern European expertise. According to a study recently published by Headquarters Austria, a total of 363 companies have already established their CEE regional headquarters in Vienna.
In order to lure more Japanese companies to Central and Eastern Europe, Mizuho is cooperating with national investment promotion consultancies in the region. The first joint investor events organized together with ABA-Invest in Austria were already held in Japan and Vienna.
