At the touch of a finger: software helps to fold cranes

Photo: Palfinger © Palfinger

More specifically, the system entitled "P-Fold", after being activated by remote control, can control crane movements up to a specified position. The folding down of a crane can take place at any position after the truck cargo has been loaded or unloaded.

In addition to the high level of operating comfort and the avoidance of damage to the vehicle, the cargo and the cables, the assistance system considerably reduces the set-up times of the cranes. The new system was developed over a period of one and one half years at the Palfinger R&D site in Salzburg. Fully automatic loading and unloading is still a futuristic vision.
