A1 invested EUR 600,000 in Parkbob, one of the startups of the A1 Startup Program. Moreover, at:net (FFG), aws and the Vienna Business Agency have committed themselves to the startup. The fresh infusion of capital will be used to enable the roll-out in all European capital cities. By the end of 2017, Parkbob wants to be represented in all 50 countries in Europe as well as in North America.
Confidence in the team
“Parkbob has really convinced us. We have confidence in the team led by Christian Adelsberger and his idea. The forecasting and data quality could be enormously enhanced by means of integrating Parkbob in mobile phone parking. In the meantime, 40,000 unoccupied parking spaces in Vienna are displayed via Parkbob”, says Margarete Schramböck, CEO of A1. Christian Adelsberger himself also believes in the future of autonomous driving. “The possibility for Parkbob to become a key player in this field is growing in light of the fact that future mobility is increasingly evolving towards connected services and autonomous driving”, he explains.
How Parkbob works
Parkbob combines real time parking data from different sources with a comprehensive data base of parking regulations and links this with geo-information. In this way, the system knows at all times where parking is permitted and what it costs, and also shows available parking spots in real time. Moreover, Parkbob is integrated in the A1 mobile phone application, in order to enable all-round service. The Parkbob service for smart phones is available for the iPhone and Android.
