In this way, GLS is strengthening its presence in the region, using the Austrian site as a “gateway to Switzerland”. The company has invested EUR 3.5 million, and its depot in Rankweil can handle 2,500 parcels per hour.

The area of the depot was doubled to close to 5,600 m². “Thanks to the new building, we are prepared for further volume growth in Vorarlberg and Switzerland”, said Axel Spörl, General Manager GLS Austria. The company is a subsidiary of GLS, General Logistics Systems B.V. headquartered in Amsterdam.
