In September 2017, investor Michael Solowow presented plans for the business location project. Up to EUR 20 million should be invested in research, development and innovation over the next three years. In Poland, 3D printers are based on polymers. However, the company aims to develop a technology in Burgenland to print with metal. The market for 3D metal printers is growing annually by 60%, and thus very quickly, said 3DGence Managing Board Member Piotr Lutostanski. Metal printers are based on laser technology. At present good devices cost about EUR 500,000.

The company hopes to find suitable employees in Austria for its developmental work in the fields of information technology and laser technology. At present, the workforce in Austria consists of about 50 people, a level the company aims to double.
