The experimental physicist Ille C. Gebeshuber was named in the category “Research“. Gebeshuber carried out research on nanotechnology and bionics in the USA and Malaysia. She returned to the Institute for Applied Physics at the Vienna University of Technology to implement ideas originating in the rain forest. She wants to inspire the development and design of products to ensure that they achieve a longer useful life, work in a more energy-efficient manner and become fertilizer or feed instead of waste.
