“This financing round worth millions enables us to accelerate our global expansion strategy and above all, to intensify our market presence in the USA”, says Stefan Ebner, Founder and CEO of Braintribe. The company he established - Braintribe Technologies - has the declared objective of radically transforming the big data market on the basis of its revolutionary smart data concept. Fortune 500 customers and global partners such as CAPCO are already relying on the technologies and services provided by Braintribe.
“Smart data makes good on the promise of big data. Q Capital Ventures and the committed investors are important partners for us in our efforts to achieve our ambitious targets for the years to come”, Ebner states. Braintribe offers tribefire, a smart data platform operated in order to integrate, translate and normalize all types of data as a defining, intelligent solution in its own category. This platform is designed to make the data executable, expandable and usable. Eight people, including consortium head Fritz Schweiger of C Capital Ventures, the IT pioneer and investor Hermann Hauser, Ithuba FinMill and Ernst Wustinger, are the ones behind the consortium which has now invested a mid single-digit million euro amount in the company.
Braintribe was bootstrapped up until the current round of financing concluded in the summer and which was officially announced after the signing of the agreement. “We managed to come very far and now have investors on board who have a long-term interest”, explains Braintribe CEO Stefan Ebner. The fresh injection of capital should be utilized for global growth. The funds will be primarily invested in the markets, whereby Braintribe does not carry out any marketing activities. Instead, community management is to be expanded, and a public cloud is to be developed as the basis for closer cooperation with start-ups. The current staff of 90 employees is expected to increase to about 150, especially at the locations in the USA and London. The sites in Vienna, Belgrade and Bratislava will particularly focus on research and development work.
