"Strada del Start-up" is being created in Linz

startup location in Linz © Sonaar

A “Strada del Start-up” will be created in the future between the business angel network Start-up 300 which already resides there and a production line for prototypes. It should provide space for new startups in the mid-double-digit range and offer the corresponding infrastructure. The City of Linz aims to encourage the entrepreneurial spirit by making the relevant infrastructure available and putting a suitable “biotope” at the disposal of startups.

The first section is expected to be opened in the summer of 2018, and temporary sites are being offered in advance. The information and service platform Creative Region Linz & Upper Austria is also on board, along with the Upper Austrian Federation of Industries. The “Grand Garage” should also be finished by the end of next year. This is a production line featuring analogue and digital technologies, from metal processing to 3D printing. It should be possible to produce prototypes to be presented to investors. The Grand Garage is being privately financed.
