In 2017, five transactions were implemented by Chinese companies in Austria. Tele2 was acquired by the telecommunications group Hutchison Drei. The conglomerate HNA Group became the majority owner of the Vienna fund company C-Quadrat. The Chinese Haier Group purchased a stake in the Carinthian solar firm GREENoneTEC. The aviation producer Diamond Aircraft based in Wiener Neustadt became part of the Chinese Wanfeng Aviation Industry Corporation, and PIA Automation Holding owned by Ningbo Joyson Electronic took control of the Styrian automation specialist M&R Automation.
