
The position arose as the result of a research cooperation with Deutsche Telekom AG, T-Mobile Austria and the Berlin University of Technology. On balance, EUR 1 million will be available over the next five years. Data intelligence is designed to span a bridge between the methods of chatbots, deep learning and recommendation systems as well as specific areas of application, from industry and medicine to telecommunications. The endowed professorship is in the Faculty of Informatics at the university and focuses on basic as well as application-oriented research in the fields of data analytics and intelligent interaction. In this way, Sabine Seidler, Rector of the Vienna University of Technology, wants to strengthen the university’s position as Europe’s leading educational institution for informatics.
