It does not matter where in the world one sees the fair trade label on a product or the “MSC” seal for sustainable fishing, Austrian innovative strength is the underlying component. More specifically, this involves the innovative strength of Intact GmbH, whose special software “Ecert” supports companies as well as public authorities around the world with their quality labels and certifications. “We were the first globally to develop such a sophisticated special software which put an end to cumbersome paperwork involved in inspections and audits, and enabled inquiries in real time”, emphasizes Intact GmbH CEO Thomas Lorber.
The export ratio of the company is more than 90 percent. The Styrian firm generates one-third of its revenue on the American market, in which it has been operating since 2005. Close to 60 percent of all organic food in the USA is now certified using Ecert. “Knighthood” so to speak was bestowed on the company in 2016, when the US Department of Agriculture designated Intact as a “federal vendor”, qualifying the Austrians to formally cooperate with the US Government. “We were identified as the only company to participate in creating an Organic Integrity Database”, says a pleased Thomas Lorber. Intact took part in this year’s USA-Biz-Award 2018 in Los Angeles and was nominated for the award the category "Market Footprint".
