
The business location scores high in the areas of quality of life and safety as well as infrastructure and qualified employees. American firms operating in Austria consider the business situation in Austria and the USA to be more favorable than in the recent past. “In particular, Austria has noticeably improved with respect to its attractiveness as a business location for American companies. This is especially due to the availability of qualified employees, quality of life and safety as well as the transport, telecommunications and energy infrastructure”, says Sandra Kolleth, President of the American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham) in Austria.
Business Location Austria is currently given a positive index rating of 32 points, the highest since the beginning of the survey in March 2011, and an improvement of seven percentage points since the last survey was carried out in the fall of last year.
The Global Peace Index (GPI) of the Institute for Economics and Peace (IEP) in London which was published at the beginning of June 2018 also gives high grades to Austria. The country is ranked third among the most peaceful nations in the world, outperformed only by Iceland and New Zealand.
