Viennese start-up incubator defends top international position

INiTS CEO Irene Fialka © INiTS

According to the international benchmarking institute UBI, INiTS is the best business incubator in German-speaking Europe. The recent study published by the Swedish research initiative UBI Index even ranked INiTS one spot higher in its category than in the past. As a result, INiTS is now rated sixth in the world. The excellent result is primarily due to the large and high-quality service offering provided by INiTS to its incubees and alumni, access to investor and corporate networks as well as capital.

With a score of 52 points, INiTS clearly outperforms the average of 259 incubators which qualified for the study. On balance, close to 1,400 incubators from more than 50 countries were screened by UBI. “Start-ups are the key driving force behind economic growth. However, due to the fact that most of these young companies rely on technological innovations, top-notch research and highly qualified employees, it is not a surprise that university-related incubators and accelerators play a decisive role in the development of start-ups, from the initial idea to becoming a successful company”, says Holger Meyer, Head of Research at UBI Global.
