Plans finalized for the Austrian Startup Package 2019

The government meeting held at the beginning of January committed itself to this initiative, which is to be carried out in the first half of 2019. It includes tax incentives for investors and the acceleration of bureaucratic processes. The Startup Package is one building block in the digitalization strategy of the federal government, and one of the three priorities in 2019 alongside finance and health.

“In order to financially strengthen start-ups, we would like to create tax incentives for investors”, says Federal Minister Schramböck. At present, Austria is examining the models being used in Switzerland and Great Britain. In addition, further financial support and funds for startups are being considered alongside alternative forms of corporate entities for start-ups to more effectively meet their special needs.
