In addition to the address of Minister Schramböck, greetings were also delivered by State Minister Ludwig Schleritzko and Georg Hoffinger, Mayor of Großebersdorf. Subsequently, Bernd Gschaider, Director of Amazon Logistics, presented Amazon as a company and its logistics operations. Moreover, the invited guests had the opportunity to get to know the new facility by taking a tour of the premises.
In October 2018, Amazon already put the distribution center covering an area of 9,800 square meters in the Municipality of Großebersdorf in Lower Austria in operation. The site located to the northeast of Vienna enables Amazon to fulfill customer orders and make deliveries quickly and reliably. In this way, it can even more effectively keep its promise to customers in the Greater Vienna area. Parcels from Amazon’s European logistics centers will be unloaded in the distribution center, sorted for the delivery vehicles and subsequently delivered to customers in Vienna based on Amazon’s own route planning. The new Amazon facility created about 150 new jobs in Lower Austria.
