Accordingly, cybersecurity poses a key challenge. A unique place fusing research, education, testing and certification in the field of IT security, namely Cybersecurity Campus Graz, is emerging in Styria. The centerpiece is a new joint research center as well as a testing and certification laboratory for cybersecurity of the Graz University of Technology and the SGS Group. SGS is the world’s leading company in the fields of inspection, testing, verification and certification when it comes to cybersecurity.
Cybersecurity Campus Graz devotes its attention to three core issues: research on the analysis of the security of systems and on fundamentally new security concepts, education and further development of security experts and researchers in the field of information security for which demand is strong at present, and finally, the testing and certification of products and systems with respect to their security. The objective is to create a unique environment for research and industrial application. The campus is open to start-ups as well as industrial and scientific partners. When the campus operates at full capacity, some 400 people will research and work there.
