The speciality of the Viennese startup Mostly AI, first established in 2017, is the anonymization of data enabling companies to securely use the data in large data sets. Original data is converted into synthetic data on the basis of an anonymisation process developed in-house. This maintains the same informative value of the original data, but at the same time is designed to make the re-identification of real, existing persons impossible.
The company was able to convince the strong partners Earlybird, 42 Cap and Push Ventures of the merits of the Mostly AI approach, according to Michael Platzer, CEO and co-founder of Mostly AI, in an interview with der brutkasten, the multimedia platform for startups. "We will primarily make use of the financing to further develop the Mostly Generate solution and launch a software-as-a-service model on the marketplace. At the same time, we will press ahead with growing the synthetic data engine in the USA", he added. Mostly Generate is a product of the startup Mostly AI based on the synthetic data engine. It aims to allow customers to generate highly realistic and representative synthetic data derived from an original data set on the basis of automatically generated patterns, structures and variations.
