Hamburg-based GPA Group uses COVID-19 test from Graz

The Hamburg-based GBA Group, a service company operating in the field of laboratory analytics for the food, environmental protection and pharmaceutical industries, has become the first company to make use of the COVID-19 test developed by the Hygienicum Institute for Food Safety and Hygiene in Graz. The test functions on the basis of the PCR method with combined nose and throat swabs. The available testing capacities were put at the disposal of the public healthcare system to process the PCR Tests for COVID-19.

In addition, tests are also offered to private individuals and companies. "Our molecular biology team and laboratory management have been working intensively in the past few weeks in order to establish a validated testing infrastructure in our facilities despite bottlenecks in the global supply chain," Dr. Michael Stelzl, CEO of Hygienicum GmbH explains.
