
For this reason, the Swiss company Guest Connect based in Upper Austria has developed a marketing software which is easy to use on a person's mobile phone and for which no Internet connection is necessary. SMS are used to transmit news, which, from a statistical perspective, are opened 98 percent of the time and thus represent the most frequently read and noticed type of message. If restaurant and bar operators want to directly contact their guests, all they have to do is send SMS messages to them at the press of a button. In addition to the info function, one can also make use of Guest Connect to launch surveys of guests, automatically send birthday greetings or set up a chat box function. It is also possible to only send messages to specified groups or to save messages as templates and use them once again at a later date. Some things are also made easier for guests. They only have to write #Reservation in the SMS and will automatically receive a reservation link from the restaurant. The same applies to deliveries.
