This investment of about € 7 million has created about 30 new jobs. The Lidl logistics centre will be enlarged by another 12,000 square meters of storge space in a second phase lasting until 2024. Moreover, a photovoltaic plant will be built on the roof at a cost of € 340,000. On balance, the company is investing some € 54 million in the facility.

Generally, Lidl Austria is committed to a modernisation drive of its stores in Austria. Eight Upper Austrian shops have already been converted to reflect the new, modern store concept, and 16 more will follow in the future. More than ten shops in Upper Austria will be equipped with electric filling stations and photovoltaic installations. The logistics centre alone features three electric filling stations, part of a network 50 throughout Austria.

Here you can read more about why it makes sense to invest just in the midst of the crisis!
