Effective immediately, the know-how relating to the correct handling of poultry vaccines is being bundled and conveyed in a new competence centre located in Vienna. Up until now
Boehringer Ingelheim has operated seven Vaccination Technologies & Service (VTS) centres across the globe up until now, namely in France, Russia, USA, Mexico, Brazil, China and Malaysia. The newest one, the eighth VTS centre in the Austrian capital, strengthens the Boehringer Ingelheim facility in Vienna and is designed to further press ahead with customer support in the region.
Training and professional development sessions are held several times a year. The offering is complemented by a dense programme of online trainings and support. Vaccination devices developed in-house are required for about 70 percent of the portfolio. For this reason, the new centre also focuses on quality assurance as well as the storage, maintenance and the repair of these devices. The VTS portfolio of Boehringer Ingelheim currently includes about 30 different vaccination machines and some 3,000 related spare parts. More than 2,250 such devices are being used by companies in the region served by the centre in Vienna. Boehringer Ingelheim is the second largest company in the world in the field of animal health, generating revenue of € 4.1 billion in this business area and a presence in 150 markets.
