Cerba HealthCare invests in a leading COVID-19 laboratory

Since the middle of December 2020, the Lifebrain laboratory in Vienna was expanded at a cost of about € 45 million to become Austria's leading COVID-19 laboratory. In the meantime, the Lifebrain laboratory has analysed more than 4.4 million PCR samples in Vienna alone. At present, Lifebrain is in midst of expanding its analysis capacity to 500,000 PCR samples per day. In addition, the company also offers highly complex sequencing to decode the genome of the virus, thus enabling the identification of different virus mutations. The acquisition is expected to be formally concluded by the end of the year. Cerba HealthCare ranks among the biggest players on the European diagnostics market.
