Port of Vienna goes green

Many projects are currently being implemented. For example, the container terminal of the port's subsidiary WienCont has already been completely supplied with green energy since the year 2018. At present the third solar energy facility on the premises is undergoing trial operations, and a fourth such installation will enter the planning phase this year. Furthermore, the Port of Vienna converted most of its interior and exterior in the warehouse to LED lighting. Fast electric charging stations were installed on the premises, five electric-powered vehicles were purchased, greater emphasis is being placed on using e-bikes for trips within and outside of the port area and all operating facilities were converted to green electricity.
