Last year the quality of life in European cities significantly fell behind other metropolitan areas due to the coronavirus pandemic - whereas the largely normal way of life in the city of Auckland in the isolated country of New Zealand was rated number one in the world. 140 cities across the globe are compared each year by the study of the British magazine "Economist". The assessment compares factors such as the healthcare system, education, culture and infrastructure as well as security, political stability and the crime rate.
