"For Infineon, Austria is a fertile ground for innovation."

Sabine Herlitschka, CEO Infineon Technologies Austria AG

Infineon Austria has established research operations at several Austrian sites since its beginnings 50 years ago in Villach as the Siemens plant for electronic components in Villach. Today the technology group is the most research-intensive company in Austria, with some 2,000 employees involved in R&D. Infineon's know-how is integrated into many everyday applications e.g. in vehicles, smart phones, refrigerators, cash and identity cards as well as in computer centres, robots and industrial plants.
