From Weiz to the World: How Siemens Energy is advancing the energy transition

For Siemens Energy, Austria is far more than a production site. Expertise built up over decades, specialist staff and stable operating environment provide the foundation for long-term investment. Transformers from Weiz have also been in service for decades in major international cities such as New York, where their compact design and high efficiency are especially sought after.

At the same time, the new service plant in Linz extends the lifespan of existing transformers by up to 30 years through modernisation and refurbishment. Siemens Energy is also pursuing forward-looking projects such as the UpHy Large hydrogen plant, which is being built with partners in Austria.
