The latest addition to its customer base is the CEBIT, the world’s largest trade show for information technology, which is held in Hannover, Germany. This event attracted more than 200,000 visitors, as well as 3,000 exhibitors from 70 countries.
The technology of Waytation was deployed in order to find out more than just the number of visitors. Bluetooth 4.0 chips, so-called WayTags, were integrated into the badges of visitors. Visitor flows and the duration of visitors at trade fair stands in the case of presentations or workshops could be measured. The documented data is cleverly, completely and anonymously assessed without any connections to smart phones, W-LAN, scanners or other devices. According to the start-up, the findings should then be used to improve the trade fair offering, taking account of the EU’s new General Data Protection Regulation.
